Pence Staff Retires
by Nathan Wear
Pence will be losing three terrific staff members at the end of this school year. Gloria Countryman is retiring after 36 years of teaching. Of those years, she has taught for 34 years in the same classroom. Mrs. Countryman has taught and impacted many students throughout her career.
Shirley Brown started baking at Pence in the Fall of 1991. Countless kids have eaten the wonderful school lunches she has helped prepare. The students will miss Shirley's smile as they go through the line.
Charlotte McClain started in the Fall of 1999. She enjoys working in the school and loves to see the kids. She makes some of the best cinnamon rolls in town as well! She will truly be missed.
Natalie May will be leaving for another teaching job near Billings, Montana. She is excited about the move and the new opportunities for her. Also leaving, is Stefanie Ahrens. She will be teaching in the Dewitt School District near Davenport.
We wish all of them a happy retirement and thank you for all you have done!
