The second graders in Fairfield are involved in the Adopt a Fireman Program.  Every second grade class has a fireman that visits their classroom to talk about fire safety.

The size of the fire truck seems pretty big to a second grader!

During the year we get to visit the fire station, see the police dog, take a tour through the smoke house, and ride in the fire truck and ambulance.  We learn so many important skills, such as learning to call 9-1-1, how to crawl through smoke, and what to do if there is a fire.  Our students need to be able to tell the firemen their address and phone number.  Please talk with your children about the importance of fire safety.
