Meet Brenda Garcia, ACT Curriculum/Technology Secretary
Brenda was born and raised in Southern California. She graduated High School in 2011 and went to college to pursue her dream of becoming a Social Worker. Brenda graduated from UMA with a degree in Human Services and was the first in her family to attend and graduate college. She started working in education in 2015, working with ESL families and then moved to Fairfield in 2017 to be closer to family.
Brenda joined Fairfield Community Schools in 2018 as an ESL associate, and she is very excited to work with Ms. Kitch and the children again. Working with children has helped Brenda look at life from a different perspective. She loves the children’s energy, and it is so contagious. She never imagined herself working with children; this has been her best experience and honor. In February 2022, Brenda moved to my new position as the curriculum secretary. She appreciates all her coworkers that have helped her when needed. Brenda stated that she could not do this job without all the help and advice. Thank you all.
Brenda has a 6-year-old daughter who is the light of her life. She found her new best friend. During their free time, they go out and get pampered. They love watching cartoons together on Saturday and Sunday mornings with a nice bowl of cereal. One Fun fact: their birthdays are four days apart.
Brenda’s family includes their two cats, Frankie and Jessi, and their dog Emily. Her family also includes her 80-year-old grandfather, older brother Samy, her mom, and two younger sisters, Jazmine and Isabel. A staff member wrote this about Brenda, “I just wanted to take a moment to tell you how much I have appreciated the efforts of Brenda Garcia this year. She has done a terrific job in tracking down school records for us in a timely manner. When we receive perfect form notices for a new student, we usually have to scramble to call the previous high school to get a transcript, IEP, schedule, exit grades, etc., before the student arrives (which is usually before the cumulative file is mailed). Brenda has frequently tracked down this information for us and sent it to us in an email attachment. I also appreciate how cordial she is on the phone - that doesn't go unnoticed”.
Brenda, thank you for being a part of our team! We appreciate you.
