Two Fairfield students took it to the airwaves this week to talk about 4-H. Tristen and Aaron, a 9th grade and 8th grade student, talk with Jefferson County 4-H Youth Coordinator - Hilary Lanman, as they discuss their individual 4-H projects in honor of 4-H Week.
#OneFairfield

Throughout the year, across the country, and in every community like Fairfield, a coach will be busy organizing teams, planning practices, and motivating student/athletes to be the best they can be. They will discover areas for improvement and supply guidance. Yes, every sport requires leaders and, more importantly, leaders who know the game and drive athletes to work together as one. That is why, on this special day, October 6, 2022 – National Coaches Appreciation Day, we stop, acknowledge, and celebrate the passion and dedication ALL Coaches provide that benefit our kids.
WE THANK EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU!
You see, coaches help develop work ethics and set standards for our athletes that carry with them throughout their lifetime. For many, coaches teach them to focus and how to reach a goal – which sometimes is NOT about winning. Often, a coach's words will echo through an athlete's mind for years to come – sometimes in the most difficult of times.
How many of us, today, remember a coach that made a difference in our lives? Rarely do our coaches know the impact they've had on an athlete until many decades pass. And athletes aren't the only beneficiaries from dedicated coaches. We parents, and the Community-at-Large are recipients as well.
So, on this special day, let us make an effort to thank ‘THAT’ Coach who made a positive and lasting impact on you or your child. A coach who gave you or someone you love a chance when others didn’t. A coach who fostered confidence, motivation, and perseverance in your child. A coach who consistently empowered your student/athlete, a friend, or family member to meet goals and never give up despite
the obstacles.
Reach out with a note, email, phone call, letter, social media, or in person – We think if you do, you will be glad you did. And we bet you just might make ‘THAT’ Coaches Day!

Many THANKS to the many hands that made light work with sorting & boxing $34,000 worth of cookie dough at Pence. A special thanks to Cambridge & our Trojans Unite PTO for taking the time to volunteer this afternoon. We couldn't have done it without their help. Thank you!

Students in life skills class participated in the State’s Healthy Walk today! 🌞 Great day to be outside, get exercise, and enjoy nature!

National 4-H Week! So glad we have an amazing program in town! Many students are participating which is great! The adults participated when they were younger and some are still actively involved in leading. Awesomeness!

5th graders are loving the beautiful weather this week on their Jefferson County Park trips! Learning about science and experiencing the wonders of nature! Love that we have this local resource available!

8th graders were put to the test today as they explored habit #6: SYNERGIZE
Each grade level has taken time this first quarter to review the 7 habits of highly effective teens.
Today’s lesson focused on how we work as a team to collaborate! Students had a lot of fun giving directions while they were blindfolded to put a puzzle together. We learned in order to synergize we have to seek first to understand then to be understood, have trust in one another, clarify expectations, and give clear directions. Great way to end our day today!

Our September PBIS drawing was held this week to recognize students for positive behaviors this past month! We have some great students who are leaders and hard workers!

Special thanks to Miller Realty for giving all our staff and students these #onefairfield bracelets!

They are ready to go for our parade and assembly today! This leadership team had over 50 students sign up this fall to be part of the team. They applied and were hired! They are responsible for setting up and tearing down after assemblies and monitoring student behavior. Can’t wait to kick off the year with our homecoming assembly!

Brains 🧠 are working in 8th science this week as they are constructing wind energy 💨 on a budget with materials. Lots of collaboration and engineering going on! Love this science lab work!

Happy Homecoming 2022! Trojan pride abounds. Thanks everyone for your leadership, participation and support of our Trojans. More to come with school assemblies, parade, game and dance.

A reminder that tonight there is just one football game scheduled vs West Burlington/Notre Dame. There is only a varsity game being played and it will start at 7:00pm. Happy Homecoming! Go Trojans! #OneFairfield
