Meet Anna Burnett
Anna graduated from Iowa State University in December of 2021 where she received a degree in Elementary Education with endorsements in English/Language Arts and Reading. Currently, Anna is teaching 2nd grade at Pence Elementary and previously taught 1st grade for a semester at Washington Elementary. Anna is a Fairfield native and graduated from Fairfield High School in 2018. While in High School, she participated in the school-to-work program where she volunteered in a 2nd grade classroom at Pence Elementary. Being apart of that program solidified Anna’s choice to pursue a career in teaching and her love for 2nd grade.
Anna’s favorite thing about being a teacher is being a positive role model for her students. She wants to be a person who students can always count on and knows will love them at the end of the day no matter what. Anna always puts relationships first with her students and has high expectations in her classroom.
Outside of teaching, one of Anna’s greatest joys is spending time with her family. Anna recently got married in June of 2022 to her husband Colton and they have a cavapoo puppy together named Honey who just turned one. Anna also loves baking, sewing, and crafting. She loves making things for others to enjoy and brighten their day.
A parent sent in a shout out for Mrs. Burnett. "Mrs. Burnett has done an excellent job setting up a welcoming and fun second-grade classroom. She sets high expectations for students and celebrates with them when they achieve their goals. As a parent, I appreciate her weekly updates about what students have been working on in class!"
Thank you, Anna, for being a part of our team!
