Staff Shout-out for Karen Witzenburg! Karen is a valued team member! This year she stepped into the library associate position and has done an amazing job at it. With this position, we have also added the responsibilities of typing and she’s done that with no complaints. Most of all, we appreciate her flexibility to step into a classroom and sub when we are short substitute teachers. Her positive attitude and get it done mentality, are truly a gift to us at Pence. We are so lucky to have her back with us at Pence!

Happy New Year! A friendly reminder that if your student is a car rider, to please use the pick-up/drop-off line on School Place Avenue. Pence Staff Shout-out for Hannah Sturm! Hannah is a very caring and compassionate teacher. While she models what is expected from her students each and every day, she is always looking to make learning fun for her students. Anyone can walk into the room and you are greeted with a big smile and validated for coming in the door. She is a valued team member of our Pence Family and we are so lucky to have her in our special education department.

Due to predicted weather conditions, FCSD is cancelling classes for Thursday, Dec. 22, 2022.

ACT Holiday Hours

Staff Shout-out for Brian Dunlap Mr. Dunlap is a team leader and an encouraging influence to our staff and students. Kids love PE and being with Mr. Dunlap. He is frequently heard to ask “What’s going down?” and not just in passing but truly listening to the reply from students or coworkers. He encourages others to be their best selves and stay healthy with physical activity and positive thinking. He is a positive influence as a coach for high school football and cross country at FHS. We are fortunate to have him being a positive role model for hundreds of young children.

Toinght's Spark Session Presentation has been moved from the ACT to the high school commons. The session will still take place at 6:00 PM, however it will be in the new location. The regular Spark session will still take place during the day at the ACT Boardroom.

Attention!!! Our 2nd grade Day into Night Field Trip is cancelled for tomorrow, Nov. 11th, due to the cold/wet/windy weather. Teachers will have some fun activities for students to do after lunch at Pence during school hours. All 2nd graders will be dismissed at normal dismissal time to go home. We look forward to the spring when we can do the big Day into Night Field Trip!

Staff Shout-out for Meghan Fitzsimmons! Meghan is new to our Pence Family & we are so glad that she has chosen to come work at Pence. She had begun nursing school after high school, but soon felt that she was meant to work in education. This year she is working in our behavioral program and she is where she needs to be! She loves each of the students she works with, but also holds them accountable for their actions. It is also not uncommon for her to step in and help her cooperating teachers, as she is not one to sit back and not help. Her future in education looks BRIGHT! Keep up the good work!

Parents- Due to the Pence Family Game Night, the 3rd/4th girls will NOT have basketball practice tonight. However, practice will begin @ 4pm on Sunday @ Pence. If your daughter intends on playing basketball, please turn your form into the office by 3pm on Friday. Thanks for your understanding!
