A voted Physical Plant and Equipment Levy will be on the ballot for the Fairfield Community School District on Tuesday, March 5!
The PPEL is a voter-approved levy that generates funds our district can only use for infrastructure and equipment repairs, purchases, and improvements. FCSD is one of the more than 83% of Iowa school districts that relies on a voted PPEL.
These funds are used for many facility needs, including:
➡️ Roof repairs & replacements
➡️ Technology infrastructure improvements
➡️ Safety upgrades
➡️ HVAC maintenance
➡️ Vehicle replacement

Dear Families,
Earlier this afternoon, local law enforcement officials informed the Fairfield Community School District that they were investigating a report of an adult with a firearm near the area of Washington Elementary and the High School.
To be safe, all schools sheltered in place until police gave us the all clear which happened shortly thereafter once that person was located and apprehended. All students were safe, and we took this action out of an abundance of caution and at the direction of the Fairfield Police Department.
We wanted to make sure you were aware. Thank you for your attention to this update.
Sincerely,
Dr. Stephanie Mishler
Superintendent

Two student council members helped FCSD make history today, while utilizing new technology in the school district.
While utilizing a new feature in the district's Quicklert solution, these students made the first Quicklert live announcement, outside of production, in the nation. This kind of harkens back to Alexander Graham Bell in 1876..."Mr. Watson, Come Here..."
