Twenty-five students from Fairfield High School along with more than 10,000 of America’s best and brightest high school students traveled to San Antonio on June 28th to attend The Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) National Leadership Conference June 29–July 2, 2019. Participants from across the United States and abroad attended this exciting conference to enhance their business skills, expand their networks, and participate in more than 70 business and business-related competitive events.
Our FHS students did an amazing job competing. We had 3 students in our group make finalists. We also had 3 that took 60-minute objective tests that were administered onsite at NLC. Lauren Kraemer and Drake Drish made finalist in their presentation on Publication Design and Madison Kraemer made finalist in her presentation on Broadcast Journalism. Laurel Hilger received national recognition at the FBLA Awards of Excellence Program on July 2. Laurel competed in Computer Applications and brought home Sixth place.
These comprehensive national competitive events give recognition to and reward excellence in a broad range of business and career-related areas. For many students, the competitive events are the capstone activity of their academic careers. We are all so very proud of all of our conference attendees and their accomplishments!
We also want to thank our 4 chaperones – Diana Drish, Staci Kraemer, Ed Matthews and Joni Stever – for coming along with us and helping every step of the way. We couldn’t have done it without them!
These are the 25 students who went to FBLA Nationals:
